On Thursday September 22, 2011, the Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce celebrated the open house for the reopening of the Law Office of Sonya Fischer, PC at Lakeside Plaza with a ribbon cutting.

Joining Sonya Fischer for the ribbon cutting ceremony was Lake Oswego Mayor Jack Hoffman and Lake Oswego Chamber President Chuck O'Leary. Over 70 guests joined in the celebration, including Portland City Council candidate Steve Novick who shared ideas on how decisions in Portland affect all Oregonians. Also in attendance was Kellie Johnson, candidate for Multnomah County District Attorney who discussed the importance of the District Attorney's Office preserving public safety while promoting justice.

The event was made possible by Lake Oswego Chamber members Blue Coyote and Buddies Flowers. Staging of the law office was by Chancellor Designs and music was provided by guitarist Michael McCabe.

Sonya Fischer returns to the practice of law after completing her service as the Legislative Director of State and Federal Affairs for the Department of Human Services for the State of Oregon.

Sonya began practicing law in 2003 and opened up her solo practice in Lake Grove at 4040 Douglas Way in 2005. Given her interest in services for vulnerable populations, she accepted an appointment to the Department of Human Services to help our state maintain services during this economic crisis. Sonya's interest in special needs issues stems from her parenting a child with significant disabilities.
